This is due to absence of Pc's culture of working with just one maximized window. But now I think I have already developed Mac work style that I'm satisfied with. One useful helper is option-command-H shortcut, which leaves but an active window visible. There is another one to hide also the dock which I don't recall. But even better is a full screen zoom, as easy as control+scroll mouse. I can focus on a section of the screen, magnified, with everything else out of view. I like the idea a lot though i think more people need to speeak up about such a feature if they want one. I personally like the idea of having a physical switch on the side of a lap top or something like it. - i figure that it provides a physical feeling of structure to what you are doing when you would click it on and off and because its off screen- disabling it(while easY) is not a mere few clicks away from being by passed. I think having a physical button would make it much better because it would force you to kinda look away from what your doing in order to switch it and thus also relax your mind and make you think about what you are doing.
