Sights of downtown Chicago
The training is over, and I finally have some time to update on the last week.
We used all Sunday, just before the training, to walk around downtown Chicago. The weather was favorable, even though we got to know what “windy city” stands for - in the morning we got sun burned while spending some time on the shore, whereas in the evening we were freezing on our way back.
The Chicago for us was mostly about skyscrapers. It’s a birthplace of skyscrapers, after all.
Chicago Temple Building, located close to where we started, attracted our attention first, with its Sky Chapel high above.

More photos below.
The Sears Tower is a must-see in Chicago. It dominates the skyline, but from a closer distance it is not so impressive. Seems unfriendly. Also, they could have at least washed the windows.

We passed near the Chicago Board of Trade building.

We couldn’t help but notice Deloitte, they seem to have quite a nice office in Chicago.

I don’t know what it is, perhaps a library, but I like the roof tops.

We left the downtown loop, crossed through the Grant Park, and slowed down on the shore. The sky was pure blue and the sun was high. The pictures look so American, because of that.

There was even some kind of a picnic on the Navy Pier, as we were walking along the coast.

We continued to the beach in Chicago. It’s a small but charming place, with tall buildings towering all around. But soon it went too cold to sit there.

We did some shopping. Then we entered the John Hancock Center and took a lift to the Signature Room, 96th floor.

Soon we had a nice table just next to the window.

As all tourists before us, we were busy taking pictures of Chicago from the above, the city illuminated by the evening sun.

Sears Tower visible on the horizon.

A slightly different view from the opposite side of the place, on our way out.

We went back to the hotel, and took a cab to St Charles.
